About Sepideh Saremi

Entrepreneurship is exciting, generative, and beautiful. It can also be overwhelming, disappointing, and scary. My job is to help you navigate all of it with more awareness, grace, and ease.

I was born into a family of entrepreneurs and seeing who succeeded and who didn’t - and why - planted a seed of curiosity about this population when I was very young. It also made entrepreneurship a normal and default way of life to me. Before I became a therapist, I worked briefly in start-ups and got to see the patterns that contributed to entrepreneurial success and failure in the world outside of my family, too.

In both contexts, it became very clear to me that the best entrepreneurs were aware of how their history could color their view of the present in both good and bad ways; skilled in managing both their internal states and external circumstances, with the ability to come to a baseline of calm focus when needed; and emotionally intelligent in developing interpersonal relationships, including having the capacity to ask for and receive support. These are the qualities I now help entrepreneurs cultivate, in both my therapy work and my executive advising work.

My mental health experience of more than a decade includes work in community mental health, counseling centers, and private practice. My executive advising experience includes both project-based and ongoing consultation with individuals, partners, and companies that are in every stage of the startup journey, from the chaos of early days to the excitement of growth to the post-exit euphoria and malaise.

As the founder of Run Walk Talk®, I am also an entrepreneur myself, training other therapists and allied mental health professionals in how to incorporate movement-based approaches in their talk-based practices. I’ve been fortunate to have been featured as an expert in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Fast Company, Well+Good, Runners World, and many other press outlets, both in the United States and globally.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of California, with a Masters in Social Welfare (MSW) from UCLA and a BA in English from UCLA. My in-person practice is based in the beach cities area, south of Los Angeles, where I see clients and patients at the beach. I also see clients virtually, providing therapy to clients based in California and advising to clients based out of state.
